Simply put, she was lovely. She embodied what it means to be a lady. Anna was classy, well versed, and abundantly gracious.Born March 12, 1918, she was the youngest of eight. In the era of her youth, "it was no common feat" to so "perfectly blend the qualities of tradition and trailblazing." She served not only her family, but also her community, with deep passion.
Anna was a master of so many trades. Her home was immaculate and her meals always created memories. Even as a child I marveled at the beauty of her home. The linen closet was so neatly kept. I can close my eyes and picture pulling those old brass knobs to find perfectly stacked towels and crisp cotton sheets. The smell of Dove soap filling the air (she always had little pink bars stashed in drawers). Her home was a place of laughter and rest. For our sleepovers she would paint nails girly pink and then serve my favorite, grilled cheese. To a 6 year old I felt as if I were a princess. I lovingly called her Mimi.
Anna passed way on October 30, 2005. She was one of my biggest fans and my heart still aches because I so badly miss her presence. In the wake of her absence I placed so many of her beautiful pieces around my home. Each piece brings back special memories. Some of these little treasures adorn my closet along side a single bar of dove soap. Lovely things....
Anna Sue Moss, she was truly lovely.
