The Laundress

Lindsey from The Laundress just stopped by the showroom and we had a great visit. If you haven't already heard of this product and more importantly if you aren't using it...you are in the wrong my friends!

This is the only product to use in caring for your clothes, bedding, and even upholstery!
The Laundress founders, Lindsey and Gwen, started the company in 2004. Both graduated from Cornell after studying Fiber Science and Textile Management. Lindsey went on to work as the US Sales Manager for CHANEL and Gwen was a Senior Designer for Ralph Lauren Home.

The two noticed a void in the area of clothing and linen care. So, then came the development of The Laundress. Lindsey made a great point today: 90% of the fabric we wear or is used on household items is washed prior to production....there is such a misconception that just because something is labeled "dry clean only" that there is no other way to care for your pieces. WRONG!

I recently learned that certain chemicals used in dry cleaning will be outlawed in California starting in 2010.

Dry cleaning uses such harsh chemicals that actually only break down the fibers in your clothing and bedding. With the development of The Laundress, there is now a safe and effective way to care for all of your clothing and linens right in your own home without the use of harsh chemicals and not to mention the expense of dry cleaning.

The Laundress has developed care products for all of your needs; from wool & cashmere shampoo to swimwear care. Now you can enjoy your investments and not worry about ruining them in the wash or wondering if your dry cleaner will only make matters worse.

I can't tell you how many damaged sheet sets, coverlets and duvets have I seen. This can all be prevented with proper care.

1. Don't use detergents with harsh chemical and solvents.

2. Wash on a cold and gentle cycle.

3. For the love...don't wash your sheets with anything but sheets. Towels with towels. Jeans with jeans. You see the pattern...

4. And, don't dry everything within a inch of its life.

For a retailer near you, please check out The Laundress, once you start using the line you will be hooked!
Thanks Lindsey for stopping by today and thanks for such a great product!
